US Nursing Schools getting you down?

Time magazine has some advice for you:

Become a Nurse, Get a Tan

This is a great article on the International University of Nursing at St. Kitts. I visited St Kitts a year and a half ago and my husband and I rented scooters to ride around the perimeter of the island. Out of nowhere, we saw this sign for a school of nursing, right on the ocean. My immediate thought was, now I know where my career is headed. I’ll get 5-10 years of clinical experience and then move the family to St. Kitts and become a nursing instructor. (At this point in time, it’s probably not going to happen but hey, a girl can dream.)

Imagine looking out the window during your pharmacology class and seeing this:

At any rate, it’s a great alternative to the waiting lists at nursing schools here in the US. A bit pricey at $8800 a semester, but that can be financed. St Kitts is a truly beautiful place. It’s relatively small and hasn’t had a lot of development compared to other Caribbean Islands, and the people who live there are very friendly.

And see that island in horizon? That’s Nevis. It’s even smaller and less commercialized than St. Kitts. I guess that’s where the St. Kitts nursing students go when they need to “get away from it all.”
